Loungers Jazz are a modern jazz combo of sax, guitar and double bass with percussion. The band is a collaboration of experienced musicians based in Warwickshire who all love making music. Having played in various larger bands, Dionne (sax) and Nick (guitar) formed Loungers Jazz in early 2014 to explore a more intimate feel and create a mellow, more refined sound. Marty (double bass) and Dud (percussion). Loungers Jazz play a wide range of jazz favourites from early to modern jazz with some up-beat funky numbers and Latin tunes as well as straight up jazz standards. Playing beautiful and melodic tunes with improvised solos on the sax and guitar backed by a lively rhythm section, the band likes to add a twist from time to time by adding a more contemporary groove to some old favourites or a jazz twist to funk tunes. An extended line-up is available which includes vocals and options for piano and/or drums. Or for a more intimate sound, a duo or trio is available.
